Experience Big D Reads through a Dallas History and Archives exhibit, on the 7th floor of the Dallas Public Library’s J. Erik Jonsson Central Library in downtown Dallas!
The Dallas History & Archives Division will feature an interactive exhibit on Hamilton Park during the month of September. It will highlight Dallas events as discussed in the 1987 book The Accommodation by Jim Schutze, and the Civil Rights Movement and desegregation efforts in the 1950s-60s. The Dallas Public Library was the only institution with copies of the book available to the public before Deep Vellum’s re-print was released in 2021, and a first edition signed copy of The Accommodation from the library collection will also be on display.
Visit the exhibit during the Central library’s hours: Tuesday: 10 AM - 6 PM | Wednesday: 11 AM - 7 PM | Thursday: 10 AM - 6 PM | Friday: 10 AM - 6 PM | Saturday: 10 AM - 6 PM
